The Episcopal Ecological Network (EpEN)

The 72^nd General Convention of the Episcopal Church, USA met in Philadelphia, PA in July 1997.

One of the highlights was a "Canoeing for Creation" event on the Schuylkill River.

Resolutions of Interest:

The following environmental/ecological resolutions were passed or discussed at the 72^nd General Convention:

• Resolution 1997-A036 on Authorize the Committee on Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation
• Resolution 1997-A040: On the Topic of Environmental Stewardship
• Resolution 1997-A041 to Reaffirm Resolution on Environmentally Sound Behavior
• Resolution 1997-A145: On the Topic of a Study of Ecological Concerns and Stewardship

The EpEN is a national network of active lay and clergy persons within the Episcopal Church, USA, who share a common concern for the environment and a common belief in the presence of God in all Creation and who work to make these concerns and beliefs known throughout all Provinces and Dioceses within the church.  Members come from around the Episcopal Church USA.  The activities of the EpEN are focused on the areas of Reflection, Education, and Action.
