The Episcopal Ecological Network (EpEN)

The 70th General Convention of the Episcopal Church, USA met in Phoenix, AZ in July 1991.

Resolutions of Interest:

The following environmental/ecological resolutions were passed or discussed at the 70th General Convention:

• Resolution 1991-A111: On the Topic of Environmentally Sound Practices
• Resolution 1991-A172 to Support the Efforts of the Office for Rural and Small Town Ministries
• Resolution 1991-A195 to Affirm Environmental Responsibility and Establish an Environmental Stewardship Team
• Resolution 1991-B044 to Oppose Use of Foreign Countries as Dumping Places for Waste
• Resolution 1991-D041 to Implement 1988 Lambeth Resolution No.040 on the Environment
• Resolution 1991-D070: Refer a Resolution on a Jubilee 2000 Program

The EpEN is a national network of active lay and clergy persons within the Episcopal Church, USA, who share a common concern for the environment and a common belief in the presence of God in all Creation and who work to make these concerns and beliefs known throughout all Provinces and Dioceses within the church.  Members come from around the Episcopal Church USA.  The activities of the EpEN are focused on the areas of Reflection, Education, and Action.
