Oppose Use of Foreign
Countries
|
Oppose Use of Foreign Countries as Dumping Places for WasteResolved, the House of Bishops concurring, That the 70th General Convention of the Episcopal Church express its vigorous opposition to the U.S. use of foreign countries, especially the Latin American and Caribbean countries as dumping places for waste, prohibited pesticide and other chemical residue that pollute the environment of these countries and endanger the lives of their inhabitants; and be it further Resolved, That a copy of this Resolution be sent by the Secretary of the General Convention to the President, the Secretary of State, the Secretary of the Interior, and appropriate members of Congress.
