General Conventions
of the
Episcopal Church, USA

The Episcopal Church of the USA meets every three years as a deliberative and legislative body of Bishops and Laity.  The information contained on this and the linked pages pertain to environmental and ecological information at the next (2009) General Convention and from previous General Conventions.

Environmental activities and resolutions at

Between General Conventions the Executive Council is the decision-making body of the Episcopal Church. The Executive Council passed environmental resolutions as noted below:

  • since 75th General Convention (2006-2009)
  • between 74th and 75th General Conventions (2003-2006)
  • between 73rd and 74th General Conventions (2000-2003)
  • between 72nd and 73rd General Conventions (1997-2000)
  • between 71st and 72nd General Conventions (1994-1997)
  • between 70th and 71st General Conventions (1991-1994)
  • between 69th and 70th General Conventions (1988-1991)
  • between 68th and 69th General Conventions (1985-1988)
  • between 67th and 68th General Conventions (1982-1985)
  • between 66th and 67th General Conventions (1979-1982)

The Episcopal Ecological Network (EpEN) is a national network of active lay and clergy persons within the Episcopal Church, USA, who share a common concern for the environment and a common belief in the presence of God in all Creation and who work to make these concerns and beliefs known throughout all Provinces and Dioceses within the church.  Members come from around the Episcopal Church, USA. The activities of the EpEN are focused on the areas of Reflection, Education, and Action.
